I went to see the Backstreet Boys in Düsseldorf on September 27… and I still don’t understand how I knew every lyric to songs I haven’t listened to in 20+ years.
This isn’t just a concert. For two weeks, Düsseldorf basically turned into the capital of the 90s. The Backstreet Boys did a 10-night residency at the Merkur Spiel-Arena — their only shows in Europe in 2026 — and hundreds of thousands of people showed up.
The show is built around their Millennium era (aka peak teenage obsession), with all the hits you think you forgot… until you’re screaming them with 60,000 people.
So if you’re wondering:
👉 Is it worth it?
👉 What is it actually like?
👉 How do you even plan this?
Here’s the full experience — from bratwurst to I Want It That Way.
Table of Contents

- Their only concerts in Europe in 2026
- Concept: “Into The Millennium” → focused on their biggest era
- Called a “homecoming” because Germany is where they first blew up
👉 Translation: this is not a random tour stop. It’s a full-on nostalgia production.

Düsseldorf vs. Las Vegas Sphere: Which Is Cheaper?
The Backstreet Boys are also performing their Into The Millennium residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, where the show has been running since 2025 and has now been extended into January 2027.
For the regular Sphere tickets (not VIP or resale), prices have generally ranged from around $100–$400+, depending on the section and the date. Floor and premium seats can go considerably higher, while the cheapest standard seats are usually at the top of the venue.

3. Crowd + vibe + what to wear
Crowd
- Mostly German, but very international
- I heard Spanish, English, and other languages everywhere
Vibe
- Millennials reliving their teenage years
- Some partners clearly dragged there… but still singing 😂
What to wear
- There’s actually a reel of Brian saying:
👉 “Düsseldorf, you gotta wear white + a bit of baby blue” - And people listened:
- White outfits everywhere
- Denim, glitter, old merch tees
Before the show
- Arrived ~1 hour before
- Ate a bratwurst 🌭 (mandatory German concert experience)
- People already singing outside
👉 It feels like a reunion… but global.
4. The Show Itself (Honest Review)
- Opening:
- They literally arrive from the top of the stage on boards
- Very cool, very dramatic, slightly “wait… what is happening” in a good way
- Immediately captivating
- Stage:
- Huge screens
- Lights, visuals, choreography
- Very Vegas-style production
- Performance:
- High energy throughout
- Mix of live vocals + production support
- Overall:
- A bit cheesy? yes
- But also exactly what you want
👉 You don’t go for subtle. You go for ✨ nostalgia ✨
5. Setlist Highlights
I was really happy to see that the Backstreet Boys sang live rather than relying on playback. Time has passed, of course, but their voices still sound great, and they can definitely still sing!
- Larger Than Life → high energy
- I Want It That Way → chaos (in the best way)
- Show Me The Meaning → emotional moment
- Random songs you forgot… but suddenly know every word
👉 At some point they re-create the cover of a BRAVO magazine.
6. Backstreet Boys Concert Timing
- Scheduled: 8:00 PM
- Real start: ~8:25 PM
- End: ~10:25 PM
- Duration: ~2 hours
My experience:
- Arrived 1 hour before → perfect
- Enough time for:
- Security
- Food
- Finding seats
👉 No need to stress-arrive super early.
7. Transport & Logistics
- Venue: Merkur Spiel-Arena (at the north of Düsseldorf)
✈️ Airport
- Very close to Düsseldorf Airport
- Ideal if you’re flying in just for the concert
🚆 From Düsseldorf HBF (Train station)
- ~30 minutes by tram
- Important: Your BSB ticket = also valid for public transport. So no need to spend extra € on the tram
- Yes, crowded, BUT:
- Many trams running
- Leaving was surprisingly efficient (I saw trams every ~3 minutes). I expected chaos, but it was actually very smooth considering the amount of people.
🚗 Parking
- Available around the stadium
- Large parking areas
- Approx €10–€20 depending on location
8. Food & Drinks at the Venue
- Food options:
- Bratwurst
- Currywurst

- Beer, soft drinks
- Prices:
- Roughly €5–€10 for drinks

9. Where to Stay in Düsseldorf
💸 Budget (€70–€120)
💶 Mid-range (€120–€220)
💎 Luxury (€250+)
Where are the Backstreet Boys staying?
- Rumored: Breidenbacher Hof Düsseldorf
- They even came out to greet fans there during the residency 👀
👉 Strategy:
- Stay near airport → easiest logistics
- Stay central → make it a weekend trip
10. BSB Things to Do in Düsseldorf
- Rhein party tram (BSB-themed vibes)
👉 https://www.rheinbahn.de - Biergarten near the arena
👉 https://www.duesseldorf-tourismus.de - Walk along the Rhine
👉 https://www.visitduesseldorf.de - General city events during residency

✨ Final Verdict: Is the Backstreet Boys concert worth it?
- If you were a fan → YES, no question
- If you weren’t → still a very fun, high-production show
- If someone dragged you → you’ll sing anyway
For me, this was extra special.
I actually went to a Backstreet Boys concert in Mexico at the Foro Sol when I was 12.
I don’t really remember it.
But this one?
This one will stay forever —
in my memory… and in my iPhone storage.
