NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower Hotel Review: Rooms, Views & Breakfast

NH Collection Frankfurt Spintower Hotel- Skyline view from room

English / Español / Deutsch

Looking for a stylish hotel in Frankfurt with skyline views, modern rooms, and a location that makes exploring the city easy? The NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower might be just what you’re looking for.

I stayed here with Arne and Santi, and between the spacious room, New York-inspired design, and generous breakfast buffet, there were plenty of things to like. It’s also a practical choice if you’re travelling with a baby, which is always a bonus when your suitcase contains more baby essentials than actual outfits.

In this NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower hotel review, I’ll share what the rooms are really like, whether breakfast is worth it, what families should know, and how to make the most of the location. I’ll also share one important tip about booking the right room if you want those skyline views.

Quick Hotel Summary

  • ⭐ Best for: Couples, families with children, business travellers, and anyone who loves modern hotels with city views.
  • 💸 Price: Around €110–€350+ per night, depending on the season, room category, and events in Frankfurt.
    • Low season: €100–€150/night (often July–August).
    • Mid season: €150–€230/night (typically spring and winter, outside major events).
    • High season: €230–€350+/night (busy autumn dates, major trade fairs, and popular event weekends).
    • Best tip: Frankfurt hosts major trade fairs, so prices can rise sharply during event weeks—even outside the usual tourist high season.
  • 📍 Location: Güterplatz, in Frankfurt’s Europaviertel, close to Messe Frankfurt and Skyline Plaza shopping centre.
  • 💎 Highlight: New York-inspired interiors, spacious rooms, and the opportunity to wake up to Frankfurt’s skyline.
  • ⚠️ Downside: Not every room has the skyline view you might expect from a skyscraper hotel. Choose your room category carefully!

1. Why I Chose NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower in Frankfurt

Frankfurt has plenty of hotels, but I wanted somewhere modern, stylish, and comfortable that would work for both exploring the city and travelling with Santi.

The NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower caught my attention because of its distinctive skyscraper architecture, contemporary interiors, and location near the exhibition centre and shopping mall.

It also has that polished, international feel I enjoy when staying in a city hotel. Think modern design, big windows, and interiors with a little New York energy.

The hotel is particularly well suited to:

  • Couples looking for a stylish city break.

  • Families who appreciate spacious rooms and practical amenities.

  • Business travellers visiting Messe Frankfurt or nearby offices.

  • City explorers who want shopping, restaurants, and public transport within easy reach.

It’s not a budget hotel, but it offers an upscale experience with amenities that make it suitable for both business and leisure stays.

2. First Impressions: Design, Vibes & Crowd

The first thing I noticed was the hotel’s modern, New York-inspired aesthetic.

The interiors feel contemporary and sophisticated without being too formal. It’s the kind of place where you can arrive after a day exploring Frankfurt, relax in your room, and still feel like you’re staying somewhere special.

The building itself is also part of the appeal. The Spin Tower is a striking skyscraper, and its architecture gives the hotel a distinctive presence in Frankfurt’s skyline.

As for the guests, I saw a mix of international visitors and German travellers. The atmosphere felt international, and the staff spoke English, making communication easy even if you don’t speak German.

I’d describe the overall vibe as modern, urban, and polished. It works just as well for a weekend getaway as it does for a work trip.

3. Rooms & Comfort: What Are the Rooms Really Like?

This was one of my favourite parts of the stay.

We stayed in a corner room, right where the city skyline started to open up. The room was very spacious, giving Santi plenty of room to move around without us feeling like we were constantly navigating an obstacle course of baby equipment.

And the bed? It genuinely felt bigger than a king-size bed. I’m not sure what the official measurements would say, but it was definitely one of those beds where you can stretch out and still have plenty of space.

The room had a modern design that matched the hotel’s overall aesthetic, with comfortable furnishings and a city-hotel feel.

Another small detail I appreciated was that the bathroom amenities included a toothbrush and toothpaste. It might seem minor, but when you’ve travelled with a baby, not having to worry about every little forgotten item is a win.

The skyline view: Read this before booking!

Here’s my most important tip for anyone considering this hotel.

Not all rooms have the same view.

The building has rooms facing different directions. During my stay, I noticed that rooms on the opposite side don’t offer the same city skyline views and instead face a much less interesting outlook.

If the view is one of the reasons you’re booking this hotel, make sure you select a room category that explicitly includes “Skyline View” in its name.

Don’t assume that staying in a skyscraper automatically means you’ll have a spectacular view. The room category matters!

What room types are available?

The hotel offers several room categories, including:

  • Standard Double Rooms: A practical option for shorter city stays.

  • Twin Rooms: Suitable for guests who prefer separate beds.

  • Superior and higher-category rooms: Options for guests looking for additional comfort and different room features.

  • Suites: An upgraded option for guests who want more space and a more premium stay.

Availability, room layouts, and views depend on the category you select.

My advice? Compare the room descriptions carefully and prioritise the skyline view if that’s important to you.

4. Amenities: What Does the Hotel Actually Offer?

Beyond the rooms, the hotel has several amenities that make it a convenient base in Frankfurt.

a. Fitness centre and sauna

The hotel has a 24-hour fitness centre, which is useful if you prefer to exercise before sightseeing or after a busy day of meetings.

There’s also a sauna, giving guests another option for relaxing during their stay.

b. Oaks Bar & Terrace

This is one of the hotel’s standout features. Oaks Bar & Terrace offers drinks, food, and views over Frankfurt. The terrace adds another reason to visit, particularly if you enjoy city views without having to book a room on one of the higher floors.

In the evening, the atmosphere can become livelier, with cocktails and DJ music adding to the experience.

It’s a good option for couples, friends, or anyone who wants to enjoy Frankfurt’s nightlife without travelling far from the hotel.

c. Business and conference facilities

Given its location near Messe Frankfurt, it’s no surprise that the hotel also caters to business travellers.

It offers meeting rooms, event spaces, and facilities for conferences and professional gatherings.

d. Is there a swimming pool?

No. The hotel doesn’t have its own swimming pool.

However, the fitness centre and sauna offer alternatives if keeping active or relaxing is part of your hotel routine.

5. Dining: Restaurants & Breakfast Review

The hotel offers dining options, including a restaurant, a lobby bar, and the Oaks Bar & Terrace.

But let’s talk about breakfast, because a good hotel breakfast can make a big difference to your stay.

Is the breakfast buffet worth it?

I found the breakfast buffet very complete, making it a convenient way to start the day before heading out to explore Frankfurt.

One thing I particularly appreciated was that the hotel catered to younger guests, too. There were baby high chairs and baby cutlery, which made breakfast with Santi much easier.

It’s a small detail, but these are exactly the things that make a hotel more comfortable for families.

The buffet is a good option if you prefer having breakfast at the hotel rather than looking for a café every morning.

My verdict: If you enjoy a proper hotel breakfast and want a convenient start to your day, it’s worth considering when comparing room rates. Check whether breakfast is included in your booking or charged separately.

I wouldn’t give a fixed breakfast price because rates can change, so check the current price directly with the hotel before booking.

Is the hotel family-friendly?

Yes! I found it a convenient option for travelling with a baby.

The hotel provided a baby cot free of charge, which was a welcome bonus.

The spacious room also gave Santi more room to move around, while the baby high chairs and cutlery at breakfast made mornings easier.

Of course, travelling with a baby always involves some extra planning, but these little details made our stay more comfortable.

If you’re travelling with children, I’d recommend contacting the hotel in advance to confirm cot availability and any specific requirements for your room.

Is the Wi-Fi free?

Yes. The hotel advertises free Wi-Fi throughout the property, with high-speed Wi-Fi also listed among its services.

This is useful for checking maps, planning your itinerary, uploading travel content, or catching up on work.

I haven’t independently measured the connection speed, so I wouldn’t promise a particular download or upload speed.

Is parking available?

Yes. The hotel has on-site parking, which is useful if you’re arriving by car.

Parking is charged separately. The hotel’s published rate is €5 per hour or €45 per day, although you should confirm the current rate and availability before travelling.

7. Location: Is It Well Located in Frankfurt?

The hotel’s location is one of its biggest advantages.

The NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower is located at Güterplatz, in Frankfurt’s Europaviertel, near Messe Frankfurt and the Skyline Plaza shopping centre.

It’s particularly convenient for visitors attending exhibitions, conferences, concerts, or other events in the area.

But you don’t have to be visiting Frankfurt for business to enjoy the location.

a. Skyline Plaza: Shopping right across the street

The Skyline Plaza shopping centre is just in front of the hotel.

Naturally, we had to go and have a look.

I ended up buying a shirt at Zara, because apparently even a city break needs a little shopping detour. Jaja!

The mall is also useful if you need to pick up something during your stay or want an easy option for shopping and food.

b. Exploring Frankfurt with a stroller

We also went for a walk with the stroller towards the city centre.

We visited Römerberg, explored Kleinmarkthalle, Frankfurt’s popular indoor market, and walked along the Main promenade.

The walk along the river was particularly nice because we could enjoy the city at a slower pace. There was also a playground where Santi could have some fun.

It’s a reminder that staying near the exhibition centre doesn’t mean you have to spend your entire trip in the business district.

You can use the hotel as a comfortable base and explore Frankfurt’s more historic and scenic areas by public transport or on foot.

c. What’s the neighbourhood like?

The surrounding area has a modern, urban feel, with offices, shopping facilities, hotels, and public transport connections.

It’s convenient rather than traditionally picturesque, so if you’re dreaming of waking up directly in a historic old town, this might not be your ideal neighbourhood.

However, for a combination of modern accommodation, shopping, and access to the city, it works very well.

As in any major city, stay aware of your surroundings, particularly around busy transport hubs and late at night.

8. How to Get There: Airport & Transport Guide

Getting to the hotel is relatively straightforward, whether you’re arriving by plane, train, or car.

a. From Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is approximately 15 km from the hotel.

You have a few options:

By taxi

  • Journey time: Approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • Estimated cost: Around €35–€40.

This is the most convenient option if you’re travelling with a baby, a stroller, and enough luggage to suggest you’re moving house.

By S-Bahn

  • Lines S8 and S9 connect Frankfurt Airport with the city.

  • The journey to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof takes approximately 20 minutes.

  • From the main station, you can continue towards the hotel by public transport or walk, depending on your luggage and preferences.

By train

  • Faster rail services may get you to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof in around 15 minutes.

  • Travel times and fares depend on the service you choose.

Check current schedules and ticket prices before travelling, as connections and fares can change.

b. From Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof

Frankfurt’s main railway station is within walking distance of the hotel, at approximately 600–700 metres away.

If you’re travelling light, walking is a reasonable option.

With a baby, stroller, and several suitcases, you might prefer a taxi or tram.

c. Closest public transport stops

The hotel is close to public transport connections around Güterplatz and Festhalle/Messe.

These make it easier to reach the city centre, the main station, and other parts of Frankfurt without relying on taxis.

My advice is to check the route from the airport or railway station before you arrive, especially if you’re travelling with children or attending an event with a fixed start time.

9. What’s Nearby? Top Attractions & Distances

One of the advantages of staying at the NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower is that you can combine shopping, sightseeing, and business activities without spending your entire trip travelling between locations.

Here are some places worth visiting.

AttractionApproximate distance or walking time
Skyline Plaza2–5 minutes on foot
Messe FrankfurtApproximately 7–10 minutes on foot, depending on the entrance
Festhalle FrankfurtApproximately 10–15 minutes on foot
Frankfurt HauptbahnhofApproximately 9 minutes on foot
RömerbergAround 30–35 minutes on foot, or a shorter trip by public transport
KleinmarkthalleAround 30–35 minutes on foot, depending on the route
Main River promenadeApproximately 25–35 minutes on foot, depending on your destination

Walking times are estimates and vary according to the route, pace, and exact entrance or destination.

My recommended mini-itinerary

If you have a day to explore Frankfurt, here’s an easy plan inspired by our stay:

Morning: Start with breakfast at the hotel, then head towards Römerberg to explore Frankfurt’s historic old town.

Lunchtime: Visit Kleinmarkthalle for a look at the local food stalls and a bite to eat.

Afternoon: Walk along the Main River promenade, enjoy the views, and stop at a playground if you’re travelling with children.

Shopping break: Head back towards Skyline Plaza for a little shopping. A Zara stop is entirely optional, of course. 😉

Evening: Finish the day with a cocktail at Oaks Bar & Terrace and enjoy the city views.

It’s a good way to experience different sides of Frankfurt without overcomplicating your itinerary.

10. The Honest Part: Pros & Cons

No hotel is perfect for everyone, so here’s my honest summary.

What I liked

  • Spacious rooms: Our corner room gave us plenty of space, including room for Santi to move around.

  • Comfortable bed: The bed felt exceptionally large and was a highlight of the room.

  • Skyline views: Choosing the right room category can make the experience even better.

  • New York-inspired design: Modern interiors give the hotel a stylish, urban feel.

  • Family-friendly touches: A complimentary baby cot, baby high chairs, and baby cutlery made travelling with Santi easier.

  • Complete breakfast buffet: A convenient option before heading out for the day.

  • Helpful amenities: I appreciated small details such as the complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste.

  • Convenient location: Skyline Plaza is right across the street, and Messe Frankfurt is nearby.

  • Oaks Bar & Terrace: A great extra for drinks and a livelier atmosphere in the evening.

What could be improved

  • Room views aren’t equal: Some rooms don’t have the skyline outlook you might expect. This is the most important thing to check before booking.

  • Not in the historic old town: You’ll need to walk or use public transport to reach places such as Römerberg and Kleinmarkthalle.

  • No swimming pool: If a pool is essential to your hotel stay, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

  • Parking costs extra: Something to factor into your budget if you’re arriving by car.

Overall, the positives outweighed the negatives for the kind of stay we wanted.

11. Final Verdict: Is NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower Worth It?

Yes, I would recommend the NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower if you’re looking for a modern, comfortable hotel in Frankfurt with spacious rooms, convenient transport connections, and the option of a skyline view.

Who should book this hotel?

I’d recommend it to:

  • Couples looking for a stylish city break.

  • Families who appreciate spacious rooms and baby-friendly amenities.

  • Business travellers visiting Messe Frankfurt.

  • Visitors who enjoy modern architecture and contemporary interiors.

  • Travellers who want shopping and public transport nearby.
