Because you deserve it! Retreat Yourself has arrived to Cape Town; it is a brand new weekend event entering the South African landscape.
I’m so happy I went last weekend to this magical event, it was 4 days of yoga, meditations, talks, workshops, healthy food and drink, live bands, dance floors, a roller boogie, spa treatments and so much more.
There is something for everyone – if you want to have a relaxing weekend away being healthy, reading and exercising… you can. If you want to indulge, dance and let go… you can. And if you want to do a little bit of both… you can.
But besides all the activities, what I liked the most was the cool vibes in the air. The energy and atmosphere was relaxing, positive, trendy and fun!
Location
Retreat Yourself takes place in Elandskloof Farm Helderstroom. It is around 1 hour and 50 minutes away from Cape Town’s City Center but it’s definitely worth the visit.
On the way there you enter a different state of mind, driving through the highway and looking at the beautiful landscape is relaxing and lets you keep your mind away from the daily routine.
Elandskloof Farm is amazing; in this beautiful place you can feel the nature. In the entrance you can see the lovely forest landscape with cute houses and cows.
Activities
A variety of wellness practitioners, yogis and pilates instructors from across South Africa lead you through the weekend. Beginners to advanced workshops are offered, ensuring there’s something for everyone. And live music and dance floors let you meet new people and enjoy.
There are a lot of activities and even if you don’t want to participate on them you can just feel the cool vibes and do whatever you want in this awesome setting.
1. Movement & Wellness
If you want to take care of yourself, here you will find A LOT of activities in which you can participate. Enchanted forest SPA, calisthenics and functional flow, retrobics, pilates, MTB and trail running 10 km and 18 km trails, acro yoga, NIA, glow and shine sunset meditation, sunset sit meditation, kundalini yoga, ceremonial cacao, sound journey, final flow, pranayama yoga, jivamukti yoga, harmonic healing, and sup yoga are some of the activities you can find.
2. Food & Drink
Treat yourself to a Champagne Brunch or Banquet Dinner for a festive experience or take your pick from the assortment of food vendors, coffee shops and bar.
As a conscious festival, with livestock production being one of the leading causes responsible for global greenhouse emissions and deforestation, Retreat Yourself is meat-free!

3. Art
Retreat Yourself is full of art, you can see it in the decoration, the settings and the people itself. On the forest you can find “The Gallery” full of nice pieces of art and also there were stands where you can buy them.
4. Fashion
You can find pretty clothes and accessories for women and men in one of the several amazing stands on the forest.
5. Music & Entertainment
From Jazz bands setting the tone, Disco Divas at the Roller Boogie to live performances in the forest, there are a wide range of different genres on offer.
My favorite were The Rivertones, their reggae music created such a cool atmosphere! But there were so many artists… Sadhu Sensi, Diamond Thug, Ryan Murgatroyd, Glen Biderman-Pam, Steph Vass & Zak, Ian Skene, High G´NT, Dantempo… and much more amazing music!
6. Kids Zone
Retreat Yourself welcomes all ages. A number of kiddies activities are also available.
7. Talkshops
In partnership with Holistica, there are a wide range of talks and workshops led by some of South Africa’s top natural health practitioners, developed to inspire, guide and connect you.
Some examples are Future preparation with John Sanei, Astrology Life Cycle with Margarita Celeste, and The Law of Attraction with Tamara Wensing but you can see many more here.
8. The Sunset
The place is amazing, I know I have said it repeatedly when I’m talking about Cape Town but one of the things I liked the most was watching the sunset in Elandsfloof Farm. When you go make sure you make some time to go to the entrance to take some pictures of the beautiful colors of the sky!

Would love to be in a Retreat like this with so many fun activities and delicious food options. We will be in Cape Town this summer though for a few days and are pretty excited about our trip there.
How cool is that? a weekend close to nature with a balance of activities. Cape Town is just too far from us!
This looks like a really cool weekend. We are just making plans to go to the High Sierra Music Festival in the mountains above Lake Tahoe (Quincy). I love how the vibe of a place like this can transcend the individual elements and create a whole that is so much greater than the sum of parts.
Looks like a fun-filled activity! Cape Town is on our wish list for quite some time and would love to visit when such activities are being hosted
So I am not what you would consider a yoga type person but I would definitely want to explore the Retreat Yourself in Cape Town South Africa. All the different events are a great way to explore the physical and spiritual type practices like pilates or meditation.
However the food is what definitely is selling me because I love all the different food options. They look great and very clean and healthy.
