The tour I took with Egypt Western Desert tours has been by far one of the best. The combination of the magnificence of the places that we visited with the warm treatment of Loly and his crew made it very special. I left Egypt satisfied by great experiences and new friends for life.

I spent 5 days and 4 nights in a tour which covered the White Desert, Bahariya Oasis and Siwa Oasis and each location had a bunch of glorious cultural, artistic, architectonical and natural sites that I’ll always remember.

I’m always looking for the BEST tours in the world which are original and different from the usual touristic attractions and this was a once in a lifetime experience.

Travel with purpose

I spent a couple weeks in Egypt because I was on my way from Mexico to South Africa to work in Cape Town with a Critical Skills Visa.

1. Tour Description

I loved the advantage that all tour-packages offered by Egypt Western Desert Tours include food, drinks, accommodation, entry fees, tips and transportation with AC (also airport pick up and drop off if needed). In this way you don’t have to worry about anything, just enjoy your time, take lots of pictures and eat delicious food.

I spent 5 days and 4 nights in this tour, but if you have less or more time you can decide between the 9 tour packages available that come from 2 days, 1 night to 11 days, 10 nights. Also, if you want something specific you can talk with Loly and together you can create a customized tour.

You can read the full tour descriptions in the Egypt Western Desert Tours Website but let me share with you a short summary of my experience. I’ll focus on the day we spent in Siwa Oasis which was my favorite and which will also give you an idea of what you are going to do on a single day.

a. The White Desert

We spent 2 days, 1 night in this magnificent desert full of natural rocks and interesting animals. Here I was able to appreciate the beauty of nature, I loved that we slept under the stars and it was very comfortable, cozy and a different experience.

c. Siwa Oasis

We spent 1 day, 2 nights in this amazing Oasis. After Bahariya we travelled to Siwa and arrived at night to have dinner in Abdu restaurant (The best ranked in Siwa), the food was delicious and we were able to choose from typical Egyptian food to pizzas and vegetarian meals.

We started the next day by visiting Shaly, a nice construction in which you can see the nice landscape of Siwa at the top.

We also visited Amun Temple to admire its construction and learn some history.

After so many cultural sites we took a break in Kleopatra Bath. Some of us swam in the clear water while others bought nice souvenirs in the stores nearby and tasted delicious tea.

In this hot day it was very refreshing to swim in a Fresh Lake and also a Hot spring.

What I liked the most was a desert ride adventure in the Great Sand Sea with a Toyota Lander Cruiser Yeep in which we felt the adrenaline of driving over the tall sand mountains.

It was so cool that we also had a board and were able to do sand boarding.

Bahariya and Siwa Oasis are both located in the western desert of Egypt, you can arrive to Cairo and spend some days there and Loly can arrange to pick you up in any location or also pick you up directly from the airport. Otherwise, you can plan your own transportation to Bahariya Oasis.
