Hamburg is a major tourist destination that ranked 10th in the world for livability in 2017, and it’s no wonder why because the second-largest city in Germany and Europe’s third-largest port is packed with history, culture, and activities that can please any kind of traveler.
I made the most of my visit by staying at the Park Hyatt Hamburg, a 5-star luxury hotel that served as a wonderful sanctuary amidst this vibrant city. This hotel will grant you all the services, comforts, amenities, and cuisine that you need. Besides being an amazing hotel, it is also perfectly located right in the city center thus granting you easy access to many touristic activities.
Staying at the Park Hyatt Hamburg was a dream come true. Sophisticated, elegant, vibrant and classy are some of the words that describe my stay at this hotel.
If you come here, you are going to be fascinated by the comfort and decoration of the rooms that are privileged with nice views of the elegant architecture of the city center, the Apples Restaurant and Bar that offers haute cuisine and delicious drinks, and the well equipped Olympus SPA & Fitness Club that counts with a majestic indoor pool, a peaceful SPA with sauna, steam bath, and massage rooms, and a fabulous GYM and yoga studio.

1. Main Characteristics of the Park Hyatt Hamburg
a. Hyatt Resorts
First of all, I have to mention that Park Hyatt Hamburg is part of the Hyatt family that offers a world-class service all around the world. Hyatt is a global hospitality company with 13 brands and more than 600 properties in more than 50 countries.
b. Prime Location
Located in the historic Levantehaus building in the heart of the city, the hotel is very close to different Hamburg landmarks. On the Levantehaus building, you can find exquisite shops of various kinds, ranging from cafés, fashion boutiques, and restaurants. Furthermore, just outside is the lively shopping Mönckebergstrasse street, where you can find other major shops.
c. Easy Access
The hotel has its own private docking place so you can swiftly arrive here by taxi, just remember to arrive at the entrance in Bugenhagenstraße. Furthermore, if you are coming with your own car there is a private garage with valet (parking has an extra cost).
2. The Rooms
With 283 guestrooms, suites, and modern residential-style apartments; I personally had the chance to stay in the King Deluxe and it was definitely a dream come true. It had a comfortable king size bed, big TV, office desk and coffee machine.
a. My Room
The Park Hyatt Hamburg has the best luxurious features that it can offer. Each room and suite is presented with Hanseatic architecture and elegant design using high-quality materials such as marble, cherry wood, and sandstone. I liked the clean design and spacious layout. Each day you have 2 complimentary bottles of water and we were welcomed with fruits and chocolate.
b. The Bathroom
Separated from the bedroom by a sliding door, the bathroom is huge and includes a shower, bath, toilet and two sinks. Plus, you can find there L’Occitane toiletries, robes, slippers, and a big closet with sliding doors.
c. Fancy views
When I opened the large windows of my room, I was amazed by the great views of Mönckebergstrasse. Outside you can see the elegance of European architecture.
d. Other types of rooms
As a standard, all rooms and suites have Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar, telephone, safe, and hairdryer.

3. Dining
When you stay at the Park Hyatt Hamburg, you get to taste a diverse variety of gourmet plates every day!
a. Apples Restaurant
You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Apples Restaurant. Buffet breakfast was included with my stay so I was fortunate to taste a wide variety of plates. All dishes are prepared in a live open kitchen that is located directly in front of the tables. Plus, they also have gluten-free options – I had tasty hot cakes.
b. Apples Bar
If you want to discover Hamburg’s nightlife, the Apples Bar is the ideal place to start your evening with superb cocktails and a central location close to bars and nightclubs.
c. Park Lounge
Located on the second floor of the hotel, the Park Lounge is well-known for its exclusive Afternoon Tea in Hamburg. Enjoy the fireplace or one of the galleries, with views of Mönckebergstrasse street while eating light meals as club sandwiches, Caesar salad, escalope, praline, macaroons, and chocolate bars.
d. Smokers Lounge
Located directly next to the Apples Bar is the Smokers Lounge with seating areas, a fireplace, comfortable armchairs, and a big flat screen TV.
4. Amenities
Club Olympus Spa & Fitness
I was amazed by the Club Olympus which had top-class facilities and services; perfect to enjoy pure relaxation and stay fit.
a. Indoor Swimming Pool & Whirlpool
It was winter during my visit to Hamburg but that didn’t stop me from swimming. The indoor heated swimming pool at the Park Hyatt is perfect to either relax or make some exercise.
b. Sauna, steam bath & sanarium
Rejuvenate yourself after touring the city of Hamburg by booking a spot in the SPA. There is a wide selection of facials, massages, spa and beauty treatments that guarantee pure relaxation.
c. Fitness Centre & yoga studio
For guests like me who don’t want to skip on their daily exercise goals, the hotel has an equipped gym and yoga studio. The gym is equipped with more than 20 modern fitness machines by Life Fitness and the yoga room features regular courses.
Conference, meetings, and weddings
For the working professionals and for the couples who want to celebrate an impressive wedding, the Park Hyatt has fully-equipped facilities that will cater to all their business and event needs.
a. Weddings
You can enjoy both a small family dinner or a reception with a large number of guests.
b. Meetings
The hotel offers 9 multifunctional conference rooms that cater for up to 250 people.
5. Services
a. 24 Hr. Reception
It doesn’t matter the time of the day when you stay at the Park Hyatt, you’ll have somebody in the reception that can help you. Check-in is at 15:00 and Check-out at 12:00 hrs.
b. Free Wi-Fi
Unlimited complimentary WiFi access is available throughout the hotel. I loved it because it was very fast and I was able to work efficiently.
c. Private garage with valet
If you’re coming with your own vehicle, you can just arrive at the entrance at Bugenhagenstraße and the valet will take it to the private parking. Parking has an extra cost of around 35 EUR per day.
d. Friendly Staff
Park Hyatt’s staff was friendly and helpful; they are able to assist you on all your needs.
6. Activities
Park Hyatt’s prime location is perfect to enjoy all the activities that Hamburg offers. The City Hall is just walking distance, and many landmarks as the Reeperbahn nightlife district, Elbphilharmonie concert hall, and Miniature Wonderland are nearby.
