Whether you are traveling to Cape Town or you live in the Mother city and want to pamper yourself, you should definitely consider staying at the 5-star Twelve Apostles Hotel and SPA.
Located in Camps Bay, it is nestled between Table Mountain, one of the new 7 Wonders of Nature, and the stunning Twelve Apostles mountain range. The combination of spectacular views with first-class amenities and services made my stay unforgettable.
My room was very nice, I loved waking up every day to receive a full buffet breakfast at the Azure Restaurant. Afterwards, in the afternoon one of my favorite activities was to watch the sunset while sipping cocktails at the Leopard Bar.
Furthermore, the Twelve Apostles Hotel pampers you with a wide set of complimentary services. The infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean allowed me to forget about the daily routine. The hydrotherapy pools at the SPA were enchanting. I absolutely enjoyed watching a movie in its private cinema, as well as exploring the 2 hiking trails that can be accessed right from the hotel. And on top of that, taking the complimentary shuttle to Camps Bay allowed me to enjoy the beach with no effort.
Additionally, I can say that the staff was very kind, attentive and passionate; all of them made me feel very special. I didn’t want to leave, but I’m sure I’ll come back again.

1. Main characteristics of The Twelve Apostles Hotel & SPA
a. Red Carnation Hotels
First of all, I have to mention that The Twelve Apostles Hotel is part of the award-winning Red Carnation Hotels which are a collection of boutique hotels. They operate in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Switzerland, and the USA.

b. Prime Location
The hotel is only 7 minutes away by car from Camps Bay Beaches, 10 minutes from Clifton Beaches, and 23 minutes from the V&A Waterfront.
c. Easy Access
The hotel has its own private docking place so you can swiftly arrive here by taxi or UBER. And if you are coming with your own car there is a private garage with plenty of space and complimentary parking.
d. Sustainability and Social Responsibility
The Twelve Apostles Hotel supports local charities and green initiatives. I really liked that it also gives guests the opportunity to participate in several projects like Pack for a Purpose in which you can help by donating medical items, pens, or toys that the Twelve Apostles Hotel will deliver to local communities.
e. Awards
For the reasons mentioned above as well as for many more, The Twelve Apostles Hotel has received several awards, some of the most important being voted:

2. Rooms
The hotel has 70 luxurious rooms and suites, each one with a contemporary African style mixed with European comfort. When planning my stay, the hardest part was deciding whether to choose a room overlooking the sea or the mountains. Whichever direction you face; the views are gorgeous.
I personally had the chance to stay at a “Luxury Room” and it was definitely stylish and comfortable.
a. Bedroom
My bedroom had a king bed, air-conditioning, and flat screen TV.
b. Bathroom
The bathroom had a large bathtub and shower equipped with heated towel rails.
c. Coffee & Tea
My room had a tea and coffee making machine, and complimentary mineral water. I absolutely loved the cookies and chocolates left after room service came to prepare my room at night.

When you stay at the Twelve Apostles Hotel, you get to taste 5-star cuisine every day! You can choose from the following restaurants and bars:
a. Azure Restaurant (Fine dining and incredible views)
You will be able to enjoy the finest cuisine at the Azure Resturant. On the hands of a top chef, you’ll find a great selection of seafood, meat, vegetarian and vegan options.
Buffet Breakfast
Each morning, from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m. you can start your day with a delicious buffet breakfast. I couldn’t be happier because it was included in my stay.
*Serendipity Sundays: if you planning your visit to Cape Town, make sure you schedule your stay at the Twelve Apostles Hotel during a Sunday, then you’ll be able to experience a traditional Sunday lunch buffet, with live entertainment.
b. The Grill (Relaxed dining 24 hrs. a day)
The atmosphere at The Grill is relaxed and casual and you can enjoy fine cuisine with views of the rock pool.

You can also find a 24 hrs. menu that includes anything from tasty salads to seafood, dessert, and wine.
Romantic Picnic
The Grill also offers a Romantic Picnic experience. The package includes a picnic basket packed with treats, a bottle of champagne, and a bunch of roses. Wouldn’t it be more romantic?
c. The Conservatory (Tea by the sea)
If your purpose it to relax while reading a book, have a nice conversation with your friends or get some work done in your laptop motivated by spectacular views of the Twelve Apostles Mountain range, you can come to the Conservatory and enjoy tea accompanied with delicious jams, cupcakes, scones, and more delicacies.
d. The Leopard Bar (sundowners and live entertainment)
The classy and elegant Leopard Bar is the perfect place for sundowners! It offers tasty cocktails, snacks, and breathtaking views. Additionally, from Monday to Saturday it has live entertainment during the evenings.

a. Two Pools
The Heated infinity pool
This pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean was my favorite, it had a nice vibe and the temperature was exquisite, the water was warm and perfect to swim.
Rockpool and heated Jacuzzi
I thought it was very original that the hotel had a rockpool – the pictures you can take there are quite amazing. This pool is more private because it is located behind the hotel; making it the best place if you want a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.
b. SPA
Rejuvenate yourself after touring the city of Cape Town by booking a spot in the Twelve Apostles SPA. Skilled therapists perform a wide range of health and beauty treatments. The SPA counts with 7 dual and single treatment rooms, 2 Gazebos with Atlantic Sea Views, Traditional Arabic cleansing ritual chamber, Tranquility Lounge, Manicure and Pedicure Salon, and Homemade healthy snacks.
*Included in my stay, I was able to use the Hydrotherapy Pools, which were amazing to relax.
c. GYM
For the guests who don’t want to skip on their fitness regimen, the hotel has an equipped gym. It has a full range of cardio machines, weights, yoga mats, and stability balls.
d. In-house cinema
How cool is this? When you stay at the Twelve Apostles Hotel you also have complimentary access to the in-house cinema that includes popcorn, milkshakes & candy. This 16-seater cinema runs scheduled movies 5 times a day and you can ask for your favorite movie on Netflix.
e. Meetings and Conferences
Whether it is for a large conference or an intimate meeting or seminar, the Twelve Apostles Hotel has different venues and technology to support everything.
f. Weddings
The Twelve Apostles Hotel is luxurious, classy and magical. Proposals, engagements and of course weddings are fabulous here.

Free fast Wi-Fi access is available throughout the hotel. My favorite place to work was at the rockpool.

From the moment you drive up your car, receive a welcome drink on arrival, and get a tour of the facilities, you can realize the top quality service of the staff. Each team member made me feel welcome and the warmth I experienced was sincere.
6. Activities
The Twelve Apostles Hotel prime location is perfect to enjoy Camps Bay beach (7 min. away), Sea Point ( 15 min.), the V&A Waterfront (23 min. away) and the City Center (20 min. away).

Complimentary activities include biking, hiking, jogging and yoga, and chargeable activities include squash and golf.
b. Nearby
