Find a Crew is a website that connects boat owners with crew members. If you are traveling and you volunteer as a crew member besides accommodation costs you will also save transportation costs.

Find a crew operates worldwide and has members from over 200 countries in the world.

Find a Crew is the world’s largest international online marine crew and boat network. It matches and connects boat owners and representatives directly online with crew from anywhere to anywhere in the world. The network was launched in December 2004 and grew very quickly.
4. Types of hosts
The hosts are all different kinds of sailboats. They can be recreational, professional or commercial.
5. Compensation
There are different types of payment arrangement:
- Paid: crew is paid
- Unpaid: crew is not expecting to be paid
- Contribute: crew pays towards some costs
6. Duration
The duration varies depending on the trip and the necessities of the boat owner.
7. Fee
There is no fee to register to Find a Crew but if you keep a free account you will only be able to contact Premium members.
To exchange contact details and personal messages between all members you can upgrade your account to Premium anytime. A premium membership costs about $58 USD per month and about $325 USD per year.
8. Eligibility
The boat owners indicate the age they want for their crew. Some welcome any age but a lot of them prefer people between 20 and 35 years old.
9. Application steps
It is very easy to participate to Find a Crew, just follow these steps:
- Create your profile: create a free profile.
- Find a boat: select the location on which the current location of the boat should be.
- Connect quickly: check mutual interest first and send personal replies to Premium members. Upgrade to Premium if you find a boat you really like and the member is not Premium.

Wow I would love this! My partner has his crewman’s license and has worked on boats before. Sadly I don’t have the experience or proof needed to show I could do it.
